Chris and I put the chicken run onto the rabbit hutch for the new chickens to live in for now. We are cutting more fire wood for the off grid homestead. I am expanding the gardens. Read the full blog article here: http://www.thedoityourselfworld.com/blog/?p=2028

Chris and I moved the chicken runway that we built the other day over to the old rabbit hutch. We put chicken wire around the bottom of the rabbit hutch and attached the runway to the hutch. This will give the little birds three different areas of play. They will have a two room house upstairs, the huge chicken run and then the area under the rabbit hutch. I plan to run electric fence around the entire chicken area to protect the birds from predators. The chicken wire is only meant to keep chickens inside, not predators out.

We are cutting and splitting fire wood already for next year. We are going to have more than enough fire wood this winter. The pallet wood shed will hold about six cords of wood and we should be able to fill it already this spring.

I am cleaning up rocks where the old garden fence line went in order to prepare the area for mulch and a flower bed for Melanie.
