Visit To Mackinaw MI & Last Day At Cabin

We did not record much video of our time at the cabin. But watch for some exciting video on the way soon. This was NOT just a vacation trip. It was much more. Stay tuned for the exciting news....

We headed up to Mackinaw city for the day with my parents. We had originally planned to visit the fort as well but the women had other plans. Shopping was their main goal of the day.

We first went down to the lake for a view and to pick up some tiny little shells out of the sand. Melanie uses these for her crafts back home.

Then we headed into town itself for lunch and shopping for the day.

Later on we went across Mackinaw bridge which is a 5 mile bridge which spans the great lakes between the upper and lower peninsula of Michigan.

The bridge is famous for its length and height. The wind can be very strong up there and has occasionally blown over vehicles. Recently a semi truck was blown over on its side but did not go over into the water.

As you drive over the bridge, you can look down through the metal grates into the water far below. The metal sort of tosses your car back and forth as you drive over it.

This bridge is built right at the joining of two great lakes - Lake Michigan on the left and Lake Huron on the right. These are the Worlds largest fresh water lakes. The local people are proud of the fact that we have large bodies of water with no salt and no sharks. There is nothing really that can harm you in the Great Lakes.

On the other side we visited Saint Ignace where Melanie and I picked up gem stones at the water's edge. Again Melanie uses these for her crafts.

The water is crystal clear here and so beautiful.

We also visited a famous Indian shop while we were there.

Also on the way we had visited Sea Shell City, which is a huge store with a famous man eating clam that weighed about 500 pounds.

The next morning my Mom made us a large breakfast on the grill which we thoroughly enjoyed.

On our last night at the cabin, we got a beautiful sunset which I captured on video.

Thanks for watching. Please Subscribe & follow my daily videos.
