On Russia's national holiday to honour its armed forces, President Putin laid a wreath to remember the fallen.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced that he plans to strengthen the country's nuclear arsenal in response to the United States' refusal to abide by its Cold War-era arms control treaties. Putin noted that Russia must act in order to maintain its security and prevent it from becoming a "sitting duck."
