190 mile 1979 Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet Dry Ice Cleaning

This one is truly special. Imagine taking possession of this VW Bug in 1979 and basically storing it till the end of 2022. This car has only 190 miles on the odometer! Our client wanted it to look like a car of this mileage and since its basically going into a museum, none of the coatings were needed.

We dry ice cleaned the wheel wells, backs of wheels, engine bay and the full underbody to make this VW look its mileage. The powder blue paint really pops when we removed all the cosmoline. While it looked great, we did find that this particular car likely had a factory paint repair. We found under spray in various places under the car and we think it is factory because it was all under the original undercoating.

So our first VW Bug was probably the most rare and special given this mileage, but what a fun project cleaning up something so original. Whether your collector car has 190 miles or 190K miles we can really make it sparkle!
