The True Story of "The Cocaine Bear" & How Drug Smuggler, Andrew Thornton, Lost 400 Kilos of Cocaine

Today on Crime & Entertainment, we share the crazy tale of Andrew Thorton & The Cocaine Bear. Thorton grew up in the Kentucky area and after serving briefly in law enforcement, he quickly made the transition into an outlaw. Thorton, along with Bradley Bryant & others, eventually formed a crime syndicate called "The Company." They would smuggle everything from weapons to drugs from South America to the United States. Eventually when the heat came down and over 25 people were arrested, utter chaos ensued. A murder rampage began that included a federal judge and a Florida State Attorney with many others falling victim. Eventually, Thornton would meet his demise during a drug running operation where he would jump from his airplane with multiple weapons, a bullet proof vest, and a duffle bag with 75lb of cocaine strapped to him. This weight however was too heavy, which resulted in his parachute not opening and he subsequently plummeted to his death. However, before he jumped, he threw out multiple bags of cocaine that landed in the Chattahoochee area. Unbelievably, this cocaine was discovered and consumed by a black bear.
