Another man I know almost nothing about, to be honest, and at the time this game came out my brain wouldn't function past pretty colors and cars go vroom. As for this legend? Well, his real name is William Caleb Yarborough and he's one of only two Nascar racers to win three consecutive championships from 1976 - 1978. He even has a special variant of the Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II named after him.

From the sounds of it, he was quite a driver in his day, and the devs of the game did him some justice in his championship as a two-point difference may not seem like much, but it's the difference between gold and silver.
