Join us for our service for David Humphrey. He has been an absolute beloved member of our congregation, and today we are honored to share his memorial with you

David Marlow Humphrey Sr., 70, of Allen passed away on February 12, 2023, at The Belmont at Twin Creeks. He was born on January 22, 1953, in Washington, D.C. to Leroy Arthur and Harriette Mae Humphrey who have since both gone home to be with the Lord.

David was a Bible Teacher and public speaker for over 50 years. He started off his working career and spent 11 years as a Professional Photographer for the Department of State in Washington D.C. photographing Presidents Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, several Secretaries of State, including Henry Kissinger, as well as world leaders. After that, he moved into the private sector managing various departments in law firms and large corporations in the DC area. David retired from secular jobs in January 2001 and went fulltime into ministry and writing. In Maryland, he taught weekly classes on spiritual warfare under the banner of his ministry, 'The Warrior's Agenda', plus his weekly TV program on the local cable channel, Bowie 77. He has written and published five books: a supernatural thriller entitled 'Dark Things'; a unique workbook on Effective Spiritual Warfare entitled 'The Warrior's Agenda Combat Study Guide-For Lead Warriors'; under the Pen name 'Samishii Suzume' ('The Lonely Sparrow'), David wrote a book of romantic poetry entitled 'My Secret Heart" which contains 200 love poems written over 45 years; 'Confessions of a Guardian Angel' A collection of short stories, all inspirational, supernatural thrillers; and finally, his fifth published work is a workbook on the authority God has given to each Believer entitled, "Behold I Give Unto You Power, Luke 10:19: What It Means and Why You Should Believe It"

On December 3, 2004, David married his heart's desire and partner in the ministry, Velma Daniels Humphrey. When called by the Lord, they moved to Texas in 2005. He has two sisters: Juanita married to Jesse Dew and Cynthia married to John Johnson; three sons from a previous marriage (to Janet) all living in MD: David Jr., Brian married to Eunice, and Eric married to Debora who have David's two Grandsons; Yonathan and Noah; David's Sister-in-Law and Velma's Sister, Cathy married to Mike Wipf, also living in MD; and three Sister-in-Laws all living in Myanmar, Velma's country of origin; Angela, Robina, Elizabeth and their families
