“Lighthouse”

[Reflective & Contemplative Poem Collection] -
‘Lighthouse’ is a reflective analogy about ourselves standing in our own being and truth. It covers many of the negative aspects we can experience in life as we shine our internal light and also the simple pleasures we enjoy. It also speaks of strength and resilience.

It arose during a course I am enjoying called ‘Raise your Vibration Bootcamp’ with a wonderful lady called Abby Wynne – you can find her on https://www.abby-wynne.com. Thank you Abby for your wonderful guidance and for keeping things affordable. You are much appreciated.

Images featured are all Irish based lighthouses.

‘Lighthouse’ is part of a collection of poems that I refer to as 'Reflective & Contemplative’, which contains ‘an Analytical and Pensive blend of observational ditties!, or even longwinded tomes!!’ See wording of poem below:-

Lighthouse

Firm, solid. Light shining bright
Leading both through day and night.
But other ‘energetic type’ does see, and
Wants to shadow, lessen or undermine thee.
Storms can be ‘weathered’,
If building strengthened to withstand,
Firm, tall, sturdy strong walls,
Being earthed well, helps prevent falls.

“Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair”
“Rapunzel, Rapunzel, ‘we want you out of there’”
Standing tall seems to raise others gall
And we see, it is just, that they feel small.
However, sometimes, we face the
Unenlightened, being united, in negative call.
“We don’t want a lighthouse in this place at all”
Confused and feeling – ‘but, I’m just being me’?
‘Not hurting any, by light, let me be’
‘Take your begrudgery and away with ye’!

But nay, they oft plot and scheme
And of thy downfall, seek in dream.
‘They’ want you ‘off’ and ‘derelict’.
Another ‘trophy human’, by demon wrecked.
Cowed, dulled and circumspect.
“Dull that light – don’t even gleam – dirty beam”
“Stay in your place”.

Em, bad. Sad. So sad.
But you know – ‘they can all be fecked’
I am God’s new elect. I stand erect.
The spark has lit, it now burns bright
I hold this light strong inside
Firmly rooted. A beacon to guide.
I land myself here today
I do my thing fully, no sway.
The Gift is Gods – it’s here to stay.
You can’t stand it? Off you go, turn away.

Some think you are a ‘blight’ on the scape
That you smell stink with your worn seaweed drape
Others say ‘you’re so proud’, wearing that cape
More, see you as a ‘time-out’, a little ‘escape’
A few may fanaticise, ‘can I touch your nape’!!
Most, they hear their internal seas quake.
A rumbling of a life once known, but forgotton, they shake.
It’s their own dreams and fears, no mistake.
Other’s against you will, as usual, ‘piss-take’!
Don’t fret, your stature, will reveal them as the fake.
Children will see you as a point of adventure.
And enjoy the joy like a toy, for it’s own sweet sake!

Yes, It’s all back to thee – perhaps justly
Consider yourself ‘solid, spiritual and free’
Fully spirited. Just be! See!
Shine on. For you and for God’s sake.

Various vice voices send out negative call –
oh you, your too tall, too short,
Dumpy, frumpy, rotund and small.
Your isolated, over fortified, a thick wall!!
It’s only a point of view to you
So. You do you and I’ll do me!!
Toddle off and let me be!!

“And what of storms, how to you feel?”
‘Well, they sure can strike with mighty zeal.
That’s the times, when I best understand my strength.
Even though I’m feeling the wrench!
Rarely, thankfully, does my heart’s light quench.’

My pleasure? Thanks for asking!
Well one, is watching seals basking!
But mainly, it’s seeing the yachts sailing free
Be it gracefully gliding, or riding the waves of a rough sea.
That, That is a great pleasure to me.
And boats … idling by, yet busy as bees.
Fishermen trawling and hauling … feeding families.
Dippers and divers, it’s all glorious to me.
And other ‘walkers’ out for the day, talking and walking, toward me.
And birds, flying and soaring, squawking and calling,
That’s another pleasure, that sets my heart free.

So, whether small, tall, slim or wide,
Obtrusive, unobtrusive, on rock or in tide.
Venerated or denigrated with words trite.
Don’t let no begrudgers give you fright.
Keep your light shining bright
Share your sparkle, shine it, you little delight. xx
