There Are No Stones Here

Hello my friends, this video features a song from my 4th CD, "If I Had Eyes To See", that I released in 2008. "There Are No Stones Here" was inspired by the account of the woman who was brought before Christ after being caught in the act of adultery. I found it interesting that the hypocritical Pharisees who accused her, did not bring the man, who was also worthy of being stoned, based on the law of Moses. This account is found in the Bible in the Book of John, chapter 8, verses 1 to 11.

We are told that while the Pharisees were railing accusations at the woman, Jesus was writing something with His finger in the dust of the ground. We are not told what He wrote, but whatever it was, seemed to cause pangs of guilt to arise in her accusers. For when he said, "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her", nobody rose to the challenge. Perhaps He was writing their sins in the dust to remind them of their hypocrisy. Whatever it was, caused them all to drop their stones and slip quietly away in shame. A lesson we can all learn from.

When Jesus saw that her accusers would no longer validate their claim, He said, " Neither do I condemn thee: go and sin no more." What an amazing testimony to the character of God, and to His love, mercy and grace. He wrote His eternal law, that defines what sin is, and convicts us of the same, in stone with His finger, and He's written the record of our sins in the dust of the ground. This is significant in my humble opinion, because we are told in Scripture that whoever repents and confesses their lawlessness, or sin, will be forgiven by God, no matter what they have done in the past. That's the good news of the gospel folks. I was once where that woman was, but by God's grace, He has redeemed me through the precious blood of Christ, who willingly made atonement for the sins of the world on the cross of Calvary.

For it is written in the Book of John, chapter 3, verse 16: " For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." I pray that this video will be a blessing to those who watch it, and as this year comes to a close, I would like to thank all those, who through their prayers and kind words of support, have inspired me to continue to write new songs of thanks and praise, all to the glory of God.
