Clutter
Not long after their mother's death, two sisters - Maureen and Lesley - are packing up their mothers’ clothes to take to the charity shop.

It's a painful duty, with Maureen trying to control the worst of Lesley’s projectile lamenting. A man comes to the door and introduces himself as David Johnson, a friend of Maureen’s neighbour, who would like to view the house if they’re thinking of selling, which Maureen definitely is.

But Lesley is dead set against the idea and, behind Maureen's back, offers David their mother’s old bedroom as a pied-a-terre. Maureen is annoyed by Lesley’s initiative, but David is oblivious to the tension he has caused.

Episode 2 28:07 Aired Friday 25th October 2019
Escape
The sisters are sorting out their mother’s books and speculating about their parents’ love life. Maureen suggests the sisters should buy a house in France and spend their last years together, tending the vines.

Then David turns up and interrupts the dream.

He tells Maureen that her careless parking has boxed in her neighbour and, when she goes outside to move her car, she discovers that her battery’s flat. David rescues her with his jump leads and then advises her to drive around for a bit to recharge the battery - giving him time alone with Lesley.

How best to fill the time? A séance.

Episode 3 56:07 Aired Friday 1st November 2019
Voices
The sisters are getting to grips with clearing their father’s radio ham equipment, but Lesley switches it on and, out of the static, a voice is heard saying, ‘I wouldn’t trust that feller as far as I could throw him!’ – one of Dad’s catch phrases.

En passant, Lesley confesses that Maureen’s ex-husband Ed once tried it on with her.

David arrives and Maureen tries to get rid of him by inventing an old friend who is going to buy the house. David moves the goalposts by saying that he has found alternative accommodation anyway. But does this get him out of their hair? No.

Now the sisters unite in trying to find out exactly who this David Johnson is.

Episode 4 1:24:04 Aired Friday 8th November 2019
Hairy Moments
Lesley and Maureen, stripping Mum’s bed, find a hair - which leads to Lesley's confession about the circumstances surrounding their mother's death.

Her guilt about it has caused her agoraphobia. She can't leave the house, because she feels that people will know what she's done.

David arrives and Maureen tries hard not to let him in, but he forces his way into the hall to explain who he really is. By revealing his true identity he thinks that the sisters' antipathy will be allayed.
