Bright yellow tape fixes everything!?

Hold on to your seatbelts, folks, because AirAsia has taken their in-flight experience to a whole new level! Passengers on one of their flights were surprised to find their armrests covered in yellow tape, prompting one Facebook user to express his embarrassment that "foreigners must be thinking they are going to a very backward country."
But fear not, according to AirAsia, this was just a temporary measure to give their cabin a little makeover. It seems they were experiencing a shortage of spare parts, so they decided to get a little creative and use some vinyl tape to cover up those pesky armrests.

The airline assures us that this is not a safety issue, and they're working hard to get everything back to normal. Spare parts have finally arrived after what must have been a wild goose chase, and repairs are currently underway.

It's not every day that you get to fly on a plane that looks like it's been decorated by a kindergartener. But hey, AirAsia knows how to keep things interesting, right? Who needs boring old armrests when you can have ones covered in bright yellow tape?
