Welcome back to The State of Education, presented by One-Room Education. Join me as I take a moderately deep dive into the subjects taught in modern schools and the reasoning behind them, as well as some practical reforms to help ensure a more prosperous future for all our children.

Today we're going to be discussing:
1. How the modern American education system was established and by whom.
2. The evolution of the modern education system in America and why it is the way it is today.
3. Why you should care/need to know this stuff.

Today I will attempt to answer those age-old questions every student has asked at least once in class, "why am I here?" and "why do I have to learn this? I'm never going to use it in my real life!" Well, good news! It's not just you and it really doesn't make sense for you from an overall economic standpoint either.
