East Palestine Ohio rail disaster reminded me of our own local rail nightmare. In 1973 rail cars entering the Antelope yard in Roseville, California ignited. Over 7000 munitions heading to Viet Nam war effort exploded destroying many homes in Roseville, Citrus Heights, Antelope. Concusions from the explosions were felt over a 100 miles away.

The clean up effort was successful and today Roseville is one of the most desired communities in Northern California. A small family park named after the Antelope Rail station stands along single family homes walking distance from ground zero.

Roseville has some of the highest property values locally. Antelope and Citrus Heights are thriving communities today.
