How to field strip, clean, lubricate and reassemble a Rock Island Armory (Armscor) 1911 A1.

This cleaning technique can be used on many concealed carry and home defense handguns. Firearm disassembly, cleaning and lubrication should be done on a regular basis.

The process consists of field stripping the pistol down to the following parts:
Frame, Slide, barrel, guide rod, recoil spring, recoil spring plug and slide stop pin.

Then clean each part, lubricate and reassemble.
