Toyota has introduced the HiLux GR Sport in a world premiere for the Australian market, featuring a sporty and off-road-focused design, wider tracks, tuned suspension, and bigger disc brakes. Developed in collaboration between Toyota Australia and its counterparts in Latin America, Thailand, and Japan, the new vehicle benefits from GAZOO Racing's expertise in motorsport. It is the most powerful diesel HiLux ever offered in Australia, with 220 horsepower (165kW) and 550Nm of torque. The wider stance of the HiLux GR Sport's Dakar-inspired design is complemented by 17-inch alloy wheels, all-terrain tyres, a skid plate, rock rails, and red rear recovery points. The monochromatic black interior is decorated with sports pedals, red seatbelts, and GR branding throughout. The HiLux GR Sport will be available in the double-cab body style, and is expected to be launched in the second half of 2023.
