#LIVE

Naijha speaks with Crystal Forman, a passionate health and wellness educator and founder of Holistic Wellness and Health where they make healthy living easy, nutritious, delicious and fun with a focus on plant-based foods and meditation to help you live a healthier, compassionate and more vibrant life. Holistic Wellness and Health offers healthy plant-based cooking classes, wellness workshops, health coaching, garden/farm consultation, and mindfulness meditation.
Crystal works to improve food justice, food sovereignty and sustainable food access. She is an avid forager, gardener and urban farmer.

Crystal is currently offering live workshops and tutorial videos on Facebook and YouTube. She volunteers as a Baltimore City Master Gardener and works as a food safety educator, helping local farms with risk assessment and food safety plans. She works with youth at a local farm to lead a holistic agriculture and plant-based cooking program. She is teaching the youth in her area how to cook culturally appropriate, plant-based meals. Crystal occasionally teaches in Permaculture Design Courses, and she is currently enrolled as a student in an advanced PDC course for land management with Starhawk.

And, Hemi Kim, a professional writer with a focus on educational therapy and nonprofit consulting. She has a master’s degree in special education and she is licensed to teach K-12 special education in Virginia. She is also an active member of the Association of Educational Therapists. She sees social movements, including farmed animal sanctuaries, as potential centers of learning for people who have been neglected by society. Her passions include advancing the technology of teaching and expanding the settings where such science is used, in service of decolonization, anti-racism, and community-building. Hemi has facilitated live, online sessions to help adult participants learn about collective liberation through anti-racist animal advocacy. The interactive, discussion-based sessions featured popular education curricula and helped participants understand contemporary thinking related to veganism.
