Status Of The Off Grid Homestead After A Road Trip

We have been back to the off grid homestead for a couple days now but our internet has been in and out. Mostly out. Here is an update on conditions of things after our 5 day road trip to Michigan and back.

We drove to Michigan Friday morning and drove all day. Some traffic jams delayed us, making it an all day affair.

Saturday I spent some time in the AM calling around to finalize the plans for viewing some of the houses we are interested in. Soon after that we were on the road traveling to see homes.

Sunday and Monday were spent on the road as well.

Tuesday we headed back to NY with our now empty truck. We arrived later in the evening and settled into our off grid tiny house on wheels.

Wednesday morning I was able to see how things looked on the homestead after we had been gone.

We took a trip to town for some supplies and found that many trees were down as if a tornado had come through. Our internet was in and out but mostly out.

It looked like a war zone in town and around the local area with trees and branches down all over the place. Trees were split in half like tooth picks. It must have been some bad wind out here.

I found a package waiting for me on the evening of our arrival and opened it up to find a brand new HP Spectre x360 laptop inside. This is a 2 in 1 laptop, tablet combo with a touch screen and flip over display.

It has an Intel Core I7 processor, 8 GB of RAM and 120 GB static HDD.

During periods when we had internet I was able to try downloading some files and this thing is super fast. It seems to be faster on the internet than my one year old laptop I have been using.

This laptop has an aluminum case and is very slim. Melanie is begging me to give it to her already.

It has a very beautiful display with crisp colors.

This laptop blows away all others in its category on nearly every performance test according to reviews.
