ThruNite TN40 Spotlight 4450 Lumens Insanely Bright

ThruNite sent me their new TN40 search light to try out here on the off grid homestead. I could not really do it justice here so I took it to Michigan where I did some extreme tests on it.

The TN40 search light is truly a search light unlike most of the LED spotlights sold on the market today. With 4,450 lumens of light intensity, this light is the brightest I have seen.

Most LED spotlights are in the range of 300 to 600 lumens. The ThruNite TN40 spot light is rated at a whopping 4,450 lumens in comparison!!!

This light is rated with a beam distance of 1,151 meters which is about 1279 yards. But I took this out for a real field test and you will be surprised at my results.

Out here in the meadow the TN40 lights up the area like daytime. On high it is super bright but on turbo you can see deep into the forest.

But New York has no flat or straight roads so I wanted to really test this out and see how far the beam really does go. I took this with me to Michigan and tried it out. You can see things clearly about a half mile away with this light. It was lighting up the wind turbine towers half a mile from my parents place.

You could see the trees half a mile away too.

When I shined it a mile away I could clearly see the stop signs down the road. It is truly amazing how powerful this light really is.

Up at my parents cabin we put it under the water. It is supposed to be waterproof to about 6 feet. So we put it under the water on turbo mode. I was thinking the beam would go across the lake but was surprised to see the animal life floating in the water instead.

The lake is full of tiny little creatures floating all over the place. With the TN40 spotlight you can see these creatures clearly. Sadly they also dispersed the light pretty fast. But even with these creatures in the way of the beam, you could see fish clearly about 20 feet away from the light.

Another cool thing about the light is that you can run it under water indefinitely because the water cools the LEDs down nicely. The ThruNite TN40 has build in over heating shut down controls so you can normally only run the light for about 10 minutes in the air.

Back in New York again I dropped off Chris and Melanie at a corner on the road with the ThruNite and a handheld CB radio. I then drove off a couple miles to see how bright this light really is.

There is no line of sight in the area due to the hills and curves. But when they shined the light into the air, I could see it clearly. It is like a huge search light shining in the night sky.

I believe that you could use this as an emergency beacon to signal airplanes for help. This light is so bright that you can see it for miles.

When I drove down the road straight at them, I was blinded by the light and had to ask them to shut it off.

The ThruNite TN40 is truly the most powerful LED spot light on the market that I have seen.
