Making Pallet Wood Tea Lights In My Off Grid Wood Shop

Recycled Pallet Products is a new business that we are going to run from the off grid homestead. The old off grid camper is now a wood shop fully stocked with all the tools we need. I have been working on this plan for years now and it is finally becoming a reality.

We are going to be taking rough old pallet wood that has been discarded and turn it into pieces of art, home decor and furniture for sale.

Reclaimed lumber and recycled pallet wood products are becoming the trend these days and we are going to be using all this pallet wood for something good.

In New York just about every coffee shop and club has some sort of pallet wood products. Shops have anything from wall hangings, to picture frames, to pallet wood bars and tables, to furniture. You see more pallet wood projects popping up all over the place.

With the holiday season upon us we have started out with recycled pallet wood tea light holders. These will be tea light holders of various sizes made out of recycled pallet wood. The tea light holders may hold anywhere from one to three tea lights or more.

We are also working on wall sconces, furniture, wall hangings and more.

Many of you have already seen our pallet wood coffee coasters which we are going to be adding to the shop as well.

In this video I am making some tea lights out of discarded small engine crates. These were one time use crates made to hold small power equipment. Since the equipment is shipped with no fluids, no chemicals have come into contact with the wood. Most of the wood is still quite clean and beautiful.

Pallet wood is beautiful in itself. This is the wood that was rejected by the lumber yard for its flaws. The very flaws that made it a reject gives it a special beauty. No two pieces are alike which also makes recycled pallet wood products unique.
