1971: My Seminal Songs

Hi, I’m Frank Clark and I’m recording stories from my life in my words for my grandchildren, because you never know how much time you have left.

Today I am telling them about my seminal songs from 1970. In this recording I sing and play the guitar. The songs are:
Inner City Blues by Marvin Gaye
Carey by Joni Mitchell
Sam Stone by John Prine

If this story blessed you, please feel free to share it with others who may also be blessed.

Enjoy!

I have been many things in my life, from a trash man in Stone Harbor, New Jersey to a police officer in Philadelphia, to a revenue officer at the Internal Revenue Service. I retired in 2019 as a front-line manager in the IRS Appeals office after almost 40 years of government service.

I graduated from Park College in 1977 with a BA in Management and from the University of Miami in 2012 with a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies. My thesis is titled “Maximón: The Shape Shifting Trickster.” I am the author of “Run for YOUR Life” on Apple Books and I teach “One Small Step: Efficiency for Managers” on Udemy.

I surf, scuba dive, have run 46 marathons, ferment foods, bake bread, brew beer, have a 1981 VW camper-van, am a throat cancer survivor, am married and have a son, daughter and two grandsons, with a granddaughter on the way. I am currently 69 years old.
