Day At The Hospital & Mincemeat Pie

Melanie had a bit of water dripping through the night so we spent the next day in the hospital waiting for a baby. After being sent home she made mincemeat pie filling.

In the previous evening Melanie had some bit of drainage. We kept an eye on it and the drainage continued through the night.

We had a normal checkup in our local clinic the next morning and when we explained things they sent us right into the hospital.

We were taken into a room and tests were run on her. But after many hours of waiting and testing they sent us home. They said it could be a couple hours and it could be days yet. You just never know.

So we headed back to our homestead to wait.

Her contractions were spaced at 5 to 7 minutes apart but were brief in duration.

Later at home the time changed to 1 to 2 minutes in between with 30 to 60 seconds duration. Still the hospital was not sure, especially with us being 45 minutes away.

So we stayed home and Melanie made mincemeat pie filling using some of the green tomatoes from our frost killed plants.

I worked on the chicken coop and computer while Melanie worked in the kitchen.

She had been told to either go home and rest so maybe the contractions will go away. Or exercise and be active and maybe the baby will come. Melanie chose to be active.

A package arrived from a friend containing some baby blankets and clothing. Thank you.

We will keep you updated as things proceed.
