Putting Shake Style Pallet Wood Siding On Tiny House

I am working on putting pallet wood shake style siding on our off grid tiny house. The sun was bright and strong, giving us some great solar power today.

We had a bright and sunny day so I turned on the freezer again. We are using a standard freezer to keep foods preserved in preparation for hunting season. I want to know that I can keep the freezer going day and night on our solar power system. So far I have only turned it on during the day times and it is staying frozen nicely. I have water jugs in there for now to keep the inside of the freezer cold.

We hope to get a few deer this year to help offset the cost of food for us. We are hoping to become fully self sufficient one day and provide all of our own food from our own homestead. With 56 acres of land there is plenty of wildlife here.

We have some visitors who are helping us today. I have them over by the pallets in the woods with a saw and a generator. They are cutting the pallets to give me shake style pallet wood shingles.

Then they bring a handful over to me where I am putting the shingles on the off grid tiny house on wheels.

I think it is looking quite beautiful now. I cant wait to have the entire project finished though. Although this is tedious work and takes a very lot of time I believe that it is going to be worth it all in the end.

Later inside the tiny house on wheels Melanie and I open some packages that we received in the mail.

The company HILLPOW has sent us a couple boxes. One is for Melanie and contains a new action camera. This is a 16 MP digital action camera with wifi and a digital display. The camera comes loaded with accessories to allow you to mount the camera in many ways. This is unusual these days to get the accessories with a camera. I cant wait to see how well this camera performs for her.

We will be doing a full review later after we have had time to use the camera.

We also got a large double sleeping mat for camping. This is a two person self inflating sleeping mat which Melanie and I can take hiking, camping and on trips across the country.

Melanie and I are often out camping or hiking and we have not had a sleeping pad recently. Many times and places the ground is so hard that you do not really get a good night of sleep. We hope that this sleeping pad will change things for us.

We will also be reviewing this two person sleeping pad from HILLPOW in the coming weeks.
