HOT Day Using Solar Energy & Property Walk Around

It was in the 90s again at the homestead. We are using the power of the sun to dry food, heat water, power our home and more.

I put out some no trespassing signs in the late afternoon hours. We had been in town and the hardware store had a good price on signs so I bought a pack.

I am going to heavily mark and label our property this summer to prevent hunters and vandals. Well, it wont prevent vandals but it sure can give the police a bit more of a push to help us.

I have been told again and again that no trespassing signs are necessary to get the police to respond to reports of vandalism. As if those should be needed to stop people from damaging our vehicles. But hey, whatever it takes.

Melanie and I have been gathering blueberries every day. We have about 15 to 17 pounds put away now. And we hope to keep picking until the season is done.

I put our chickens outside every morning to get fresh air, grass and bugs. This greatly offsets our food costs. In the chicken coop they eat about 1.5 gallons of food per day. Outside they only use about 2 quarts per day. That is a huge savings.

Later on I take the camera out and give you a little bit of a walk around the edge of the property. One day I will take the bike and the action camera out and give you a real tour of the place.

We have 16 acres of wild, forested land full of blueberries, cranberries, blackberries and other wild edibles. And we are taking advantage of this to the fullest extent we can each day.
