Eastonmade 12-22 Splitter – My Favorite Splitter In The Log Yard at our Homestead!

1 year ago

In today’s video, I am running the Eastonmade splitter with the 6 way wedge in the log yard. Start with the log; cut it into rounds; and then split the rounds into firewood. I had a little fun with the sound effects on the video, but I will be doing a detail video soon. Just a quick visual of my favorite splitter in action. If you’re thinking of getting an Eastonmade splitter, I highly recommend the 12-22. - Chuck

00:00:00,900 --> 00:00:02,800
Welcome back to Make Some Dust.

2
00:00:04,433 --> 00:00:06,933
This is the Eastonmade 12-22 splitter.

3
00:00:07,667 --> 00:00:09,234
Hey, don't be jealous, alright.

4
00:00:11,966 --> 00:00:14,667
Today it's time to take care of my own household heating.

5
00:00:15,733 --> 00:00:18,733
The customers are all taken care of, but I'm the last one on the list.

6
00:00:23,633 --> 00:00:26,433
Here we're using the Bobcat S250 wheel

7
00:00:26,533 --> 00:00:27,467
skid steer

8
00:00:28,500 --> 00:00:29,933
with the grapple bucket on it.

9
00:00:30,467 --> 00:00:33,433
My typical set up for grabbing logs and cuttin' them.

10
00:00:34,067 --> 00:00:35,900
keep them off the ground and out of the dirt.

11
00:00:36,600 --> 00:00:38,334
And, at the right level for me cuttin'.

12
00:00:58,400 --> 00:01:01,933
Take notice to the zip tie on the left hand side of my chainsaw,

13
00:01:02,134 --> 00:01:03,633
it's strapped onto the handle.

14
00:01:05,067 --> 00:01:09,433
And, that's a typical zip tie for HVAC people. They tie on to flexible duct.

15
00:01:09,933 --> 00:01:11,067
to the hard duct pipe.

16
00:01:12,300 --> 00:01:14,966
I cut it off sixteen inches off the blade.

17
00:01:15,600 --> 00:01:17,500
It's flexible. Never gets on my way.

18
00:01:18,733 --> 00:01:23,400
And it'll freeze up a lot of the extra time you take for marking out your logs to the

19
00:01:24,300 --> 00:01:25,933
standard length of sixteen inches.

20
00:02:00,267 --> 00:02:02,533
If you're thinking about a commercial splitter

21
00:02:03,267 --> 00:02:06,167
I highly recommend this Eastonmade 12-22.

22
00:02:07,500 --> 00:02:11,000
Yeah, they're expensive, but man they're worth their weight in gold.

23
00:02:12,067 --> 00:02:14,567
I do not regret spending the money on this machine.
