Plum Blossom is the city flower of Nanjing. The Plum Blossom Mountain in the eastern suburbs of Nanjing has been famous since the Republic of China. It is one of the four major plum blossom scenic spots together with Wuhan East Lake Plum Garden, Wuxi Plum Garden, and Suzhou Xiangxuehai. During February and March every year, millions of tourists flock there to step on the snow and look for plum blossoms. In addition to 400,000 newly planted trees, more than 1,000 large plum trees have been transplanted here. The number of ornamental plums in Plum Blossom Valley has increased from 15,000 to 35,000, and the number of varieties has increased from more than 230 to more than 330, many of which are newly cultivated varieties.
