LOREM IPSUM is a contemporary fine art photography series created by German artist Daniel Voelker in 2021.

Within the series LOREM IPSUM Daniel Voelker presents vintage and modern photographs of female nudes in monochrome color. The central motifs are nude women (and men) with different brighter and darker square raster graphics laying over them. In this art nude photography series Voelker plays with the „deeper meaning“ of art in general. Influenced by Gerhard Richter’s “Schwimmerinnen” from 1965, Sigmar Polke’s „Bunnies“ from 1966, Thomas Ruff’s art series „Nudes“, John Baldessari’s „Tips For Artists Who Want To Sell“ and the abstract paintings from Mark Rothko Daniel Voelker creates tensions between the past, the present and the future questioning what art actually is and what it means for mankind. The Title of this art collection refers to the question „Is this art or can I throw it out?“ and leaves a question mark if this is all nonsense or well thought through masterpieces with a philosophical deep meaning.

Lorem Ipsum is dummy text commonly used by printers, graphic designers, and publishers to fill in text when no real content is available. It is a form of filler text that is used to give an impression of the final product, and is often used when designing layouts for books, magazines, newspapers, and websites.
