In this video I explain how I think red velvet cake became a thing.

My recipe:
In one bowl combine
2 1\2 C flour
3 T cocoa powder
1 tsp salt
1 1\2 tsp baking soda

In a second bowl cream together
1 1\2 C sugar with 1 1\2 C oil
Mix in 2 eggs, 1 tsp vinegar, 1 tsp vanilla, 2oz red food coloring. After those are fully incorporated, alternately add your dry ingredients and 1 C buttermilk.

Bake in lined cupcake tins at 350 for 20-25 min.
