GMRS Range Tests With Jenn. Mobile To base, and Base To Mobile. How Do These Midlands Stack Up?

It is time to finally test the range of these Midland GMRS radios! Both the 40 base and the 15 watt mobile are hooked to a 6db gain antenna using a magnet mount. The base is centered on a 40x40 steel roof about 26 feet off the ground, and the mobile is centered on the roof of the Toyota T100.

Overall it is about what I expected. Great clarity and range that was sometimes hampered by the extremely mountainous terrain around here.

Next up? GMRS Vs. CB Range tests!
