The Renegade is a wonderful dry fly (but can also be fished wet) that has been around for many years and catches both trout and panfish. It is a simple fly to tie and a nice fly to work on your skills of proportions in fly tying. I have seen a few folks tie this on a longer shank hook and add a bead in front to fish this as an emerger or even a nymph with success. It is also a quick fly to tie and in no time you can have a couple of dozen flies ready for when you are next on the water. - Enjoy
