Dead Kennedys is an American punk rock band that formed in San Francisco, California, in 1978. The original lineup of the band consisted of Jello Biafra (vocals), East Bay Ray (guitar), Klaus Flouride (bass), and Ted (or Bruce) on drums.

The Dead Kennedys were known for their politically charged lyrics and confrontational live shows. They were one of the most influential punk bands of the late 1970s and early 1980s, and their music addressed a wide range of social and political issues, including consumerism, nuclear war, police brutality, and the influence of the media.

Some of their most well-known songs include "California Über Alles," "Holiday in Cambodia," "Police Truck," and "Too Drunk to Fuck." The band released four studio albums before disbanding in 1986, but their influence on punk rock and alternative music continues to be felt to this day.
