The 10 Best Books I Read in 2022

16

I have been reading ca. 50 books a year for the last 3 years. I would mostly read personal development books when I started out, but bit by bit, I began to expand to other genres. 2022 was definitively the year where I read more broadly.

This can be reflected in my book ranking. Apart from business and psychology books, you will also find works about neuroscience, history and computer science; some of them also touch upon political philosophy, evolutionary psychology and ethology. My attempt is to give you an overview of what the book is about, to highlight what I found more interesting about it, and to say who could benefit from reading it.

I have ranked the books in an ascending order, i.e. with the best ones at the end. This arrangement has, for the most part, been based on whether the ideas contained in the book blew my mind; the more surprising I found them, the higher I rated the book. Thus, it ignores other aspects such as quality of writing, complexity, influence in its field or scientific rigor. For the aforementioned, and because most of the books stem from unrelated disciplines, I would beg you to take categorisation as merely indicative; i.e., with a pinch of salt 🧂.
