On September 16th, the surprise announcement was made that Keanu Reeves will be returning to the role of John Constantine, in a sequel to the 2005 original. Also returning, are the director, writer and producer of that movie, namely Francis Lawrence, Akiva Goldsman, and Lorenzo DiBonaventura respectively. Not a returning original, but also involved, is producer J.J. Abrams of Bad Robot fame.
Because of that, you could be forgiven for thinking that this is Bad Robot production where J.J. Abrams ultimately runs the show – but we have done some digging, and as it turns out, nothing could be further from the truth than that.

On the contrary, Keanu Reeves return to Constantine is in reality another nail in the coffin for J.J. Abarms reign as the king of Hollywood.
To fully appreciate why, we will begin this video with something of a history lesson, and recap the history of John Constantine, for those who came in late. With that established, we will explore the connection between J.J. Abrams and John Constantine, and why the return Keanu Reeves is so extremely detrimental to JJ and Bad Robot.
