Setting the Vynil Chloride on fire in OHIO was unncesarry, proof in the comment section
The government says it was the safest ideea to burn the fuel because of the rising pressure of the vynil chloride. Bollocks. If there ever was a risk of presurre they could have oppened the valve and spill the chemical into the Earth. Are they really saying it was safe to start the fire in a controlled way? In an accident. Then it would have been safe also to just spill the chemical on the ground, it makes no sense why burning it was "safer". All containers have release valves, thats why they were able to start the fire. Also they say there was a high risk of explosion, a big one. It wouldn't have been big, meaning not worse than the "controlled fire". Also the chemical moves to another storage room when the container is damaged. The assumption is that the fire around it would have damaged the compound and make it burn. Not really, it was cold outside very cold also there was no fire when the train derailed. In fact vynil chloride is the most inflamable of all the gasses and it didnt burn, it had to be burned. This is the major difference. The fact is the most inflamable compound which is vynil had to be spilled somewhere in order to start the fire, it had to be moved out of the container. Some worker had to release a valve, spill the compound on the ground and then someone to burn it from the distance, to ignite the fire. But the fact remains, someone had to go and open that valve to begin with. By releasing the valve you release the pressure, hence minimise the risk of explosion. If there ever was a risk of explosion that big, how the hell would have they started the fire? And from what distance. It is simple science, if there ever was a risk of explosion it was neutralised when the valve was released and declared safe enaugh that a firefighter (if there ever was a firefifhter i doubt that) could start the fire from the distance by a drone maby. Also the rest of the containers didnt burn so the assumption was that only the vynil chloride had the most risk. Once the vynil chloride was released outside and the pressure risks inside the tanker minimised, the firefighters decided to start the fire precisely because it was no risk of explosion to them or the residents of Palestine Ohio. Simple logic, science and some common sense. In any case, we have determined there was no risk of explosion after the release valves were triggered as we can see in the video. The liquids go up (btw Vinil chloride is stored as a liquid). We can see columns of liquid spray up and THEN, AFTER THAT they ignite because the firefighters planned a fire. They could have just as much NOT planted a fire, release the valves and SEE if there was a fire afterwards or not.
