'We've not been lucky' said Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte on Monday as he prepares his injury-hit side to face AC Milan in the Champions League last 16 on Tuesday evening.

The London side are facing significant injury concerns ahead of the round of 16 clash, with Hugo Lloris, Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma all facing long periods of time on the sidelines.

The north London club confirmed on Monday that midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur will be ruled out for the rest of the season after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during Tottenham's 4-1 defeat by Leicester on Saturday.

On Thursday Spurs announced that another midfielder, Yves Bissouma, needed surgery for a stress fracture to his left ankle, with Tottenham's assistant coach, Cristian Stellini, saying on Saturday that Sarr – who has no Champions League experience - was an option to start in Milan.

Both Tottenham and AC Milan are fifth in their respective leagues with the "Rossoneri" ending a five-match winless streak in Serie A by beating Torino 1-0 on Friday.
