PVC is everywhere!! Once processed and used it OUTGASSES. For example, when you buy a new car and leave it out in the sun, especially with the windows closed, you will get a greasy film on your interior glass. That are chloride fumes and are NOT SAFE. Let your car air out before you get in, especially with little kids because they will not only breathe in these poisonous fumes bit they will also be absorbed through their skin.
