Proverbs 5:1-11

Warning Against Adultery
5 My son, pay attention to my wisdom,    turn your ear to my words of insight,2 that you may maintain discretion    and your lips may preserve knowledge.3 For the lips of the adulterous woman drip honey,    and her speech is smoother than oil;4 but in the end she is bitter as gall,    sharp as a double-edged sword.5 Her feet go down to death;    her steps lead straight to the grave.6 She gives no thought to the way of life;    her paths wander aimlessly, but she does not know it.
7 Now then, my sons, listen to me;    do not turn aside from what I say.8 Keep to a path far from her,    do not go near the door of her house,9 lest you lose your honor to others    and your dignity[a] to one who is cruel,10 lest strangers feast on your wealth    and your toil enrich the house of another.11 At the end of your life you will groan,    when your flesh and body are spent.

Matthew 7:21

21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
The Wise and Foolish Builders
24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
28 When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, 29 because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law.

Fool

He gives wisdom to those who ask.
