How to make cold brew coffee coffee in a Mason Jar!

Cold brew coffee is much, much smoother than hot brewed coffee, and you get more caffeine from cold brewing. Win-win!

If you like your coffee hot, you can heat it after cold brewing.

To start, get one or more quart-size Mason jars.

Add about three heaping tablespoons of coffee to each jar, more or less to taste.

Add cold water, and secure the lids.

Let sit at room temperature for 12 - 24 hours.

Perhaps shake the jars once or twice during this time.

When the brewing time is done, strain the coffee with a French press. You could also use a funnel and a coffee filter.

Refrigerate to store the coffee.

The picture in the title screen was made by adding maple syrup to the coffee (the thin dark layer at the bottom), and then cream. Let it sit for a while and you should get the layers as in the picture.
