Human desperation is something that many of us never experience in its truest form, which we should be thankful for. However, in life, not everything is always such a cake walk for everyone. As a group of people were headed to California in the 1800s, they would be besieged by storm after storm, requiring them to halt their progress and dig in. Unfortunately, as their food supplies ran low, this lead to some tough decisions being made.
