In this DIY video, I explain the construction of the timber frame cabin in the woods of the Smoky Mountains by answering questions from subscriber comments on the woodwork and materials used. Poplar logs were used for the post and beam, pine will be used for the framing and exterior siding. The bottom will receive a knee wall to lay rock against the three foot crawl space, all wood is being burnt to preserve it by making it water and bug proof along with a clear sealant in the future. It is all being done on a budget and in spare time. We hope that our weekly Q/A videos will help subscribers stay up to date on their questions. Be sure and reference earlier videos for loads of information that may answer things you have thought about.
