You may have heard of the concept of a 15-minute city recently. Cities like Edmonton have looked into the possibility of implementing them. The idea originally began in Paris and other European cities.

We spoke to the President of the Lethbridge Historical Society, Belinda Crowson, who explained exactly what a 15-minute city is and what it would potentially look like.

Theo Fleury, a former Calgary Flames hockey player and a 1989 Stanley Cup champion, has been very outspoken on social media against the idea of a 15-minute city. He recently called the concept anti-Canadian.

Bridge City News reached out to the City of Lethbridge to see if City Council has discussed the idea of implementing a 15-minute city. Staff with the city told us it’s currently not on their radar.
