Lendrema 30th Anniversary Mahaleo English & Français

The film tells the story of Madagascar today through the music of Mahaleo. It is produced by Raymond Rajaonarivelo, Cesar and Marie-Clémence Paes, and directed by Paes and Rajaonarivelo. In 1972, when the people of Madagascar were revolting against their colonial rulers, Mahaleo's songs were one of the main reasons why the uprising succeeded. They continue to play today, and their music has inspired many other Malagasy artists. Mahaleo is a film about a famous Malagasy band, Mahaleo, who have been playing together for thirty years. The band is made up of seven people, all of whom have different jobs and backgrounds, but they all love playing music together.
