Is It Worth More? | Antiques & Vintage Appraisal Fair Q&A

Small town appraisal fairs throw us appraisers some curve balls sometimes! This fun event at the historic Dezell Home in Greensboro, Florida is chock full of locally significant things that have value beyond the norm because of where they are. Antique and vintage pieces from as far as Turkey and India appear, and as close as the next town. Do we get the values of these vintage goods right?

Country living is a theme, with items rescued from local general stores and far flung auctions representing a slice of real American heritage. We intersperse appraisal valuations with values and views of some specific displays in the museum house, and talk about the importance of antiques and vintage in educating future scholars and antique aficionados.

Salvation comes for small towns when devotees of an area's history join forces, and the West Gadsden Historical Society have done an amazing job resurrecting this little town's railroad depot as well! From its original shop tools, stationmaster's desk and safe to the segregated waiting rooms, this museum and events venue is a great wrap up for our fascinating journey to this once prominent rail town.
