I buy chicken fillet quite often: I cook homemade "nuggets" (they always turn out juicy and tasty, and the children are happy)
I really like homemade nuggets, because, firstly, I know that they are definitely made from chicken, and secondly, they always turn out juicy and tasty. There are many options for their preparation, and it is difficult to choose. Especially if you are cooking them for the first time. So today I want to share with you my proven recipe for delicious chicken nuggets. And at the end of the article I will share my experience with the ingredients that I no longer use in this dish.
Cooking nuggets is not difficult:
We wash the chicken fillet, dry it and cut it into small pieces. They do not need to be made thick so that they have time to fry, but not too thin so that they remain juicy.
Now we salt the chicken a little, add chicken seasoning and a spoonful of vegetable oil so that the spices wrap each piece well and open up better. We mix everything with our hands.
You can use spices to your liking, but I prefer it for chicken. There is turmeric, paprika, coriander and peppers - what you need. Please note that these seasonings may contain salt.
Lightly salt the eggs and beat with a fork. Pour flour into one plate, breadcrumbs into the second. We put a frying pan with a large amount of vegetable oil to heat up (I pour about 1.5 cm to make deep fat, and to reduce oil consumption, take a container of small diameter).
Dip each piece of chicken first into the egg, then into the flour, then into the egg again, and lastly into the breadcrumbs. When the oil is hot, reduce the heat to medium and lower the prepared pieces.
Fry each until golden brown on both sides. Place the cooked nuggets on paper towels to soak up some of the excess oil.
It turns out a whole mountain of ruddy and insanely juicy treats! You can serve the sauce with the nuggets or make your own. I really like to add garlic and fresh herbs to tomato paste. Bon appetit!
Products:
- chicken fillet - 500 g
- eggs - 2 pcs
- salt, pepper - to taste
- seasoning for chicken - 1 tsp
- vegetable oil - 1 tbsp. + for frying
- corn flour
- breadcrumbs
Wrong ingredients for nuggets
I have tried different recipes and here are my observations:
- It is better to use corn flour. It makes the breading crispier;
- Breadcrumbs are better to take finely ground breadcrumbs. In stores you can find large breadcrumbs, like for chicken from KFC. But in my opinion, because of them, the chicken loses its taste. More precisely, the breading has its own taste, which is brighter than chicken in this case;
- it is better to cook on medium heat, because. on a slow chicken, you can overdry.
