How do safety glasses stand up to an air rifle, .22LR, and 9mm?

There is a big difference between safety glasses and run-of-the-mill sunglasses or eyeglasses. Plastic sunglasses tend to be thin and brittle, providing little protection from projectiles. Standard corrective eyeglasses are made of thick glass, providing a little more protection, but they will shatter when struck with sufficient force. The polycarbonate lenses of protective eyewear, however, are thick and tough, and they resist shattering.

Safety glasses are generally considered light protection against ballistic debris. They'll save you from a scope kiss. They'll provide some protection against dust, ricochets, rocks, and case head separations. But what can they take? I took some lenses from a Browning ACE to the range for a little working-over.

Projectiles are Crosman copper-plated BBs, Winchester supersonic .22LR, and 9mm Hornady XTP.
