Syria aid efforts hampered by geopolitics

Efforts to bring international aid to northern Syria following the devastating earthquake that hit the region are proving challenging in part because of the tense political situation in the country. While most of Syria is under the control of the government in Damascus, much of the north is controlled by different — and sometimes conflicting — groups.
