read a letter from the Marion Alliance for racial equity from the education subcommittee and

here's the contents of that letter the Marian Alliance for racial Equity appreciates linmar's continued support

and work to create an inclusive and safe environment for every student every day we commend several actions the district

has taken this last year to help move inclusiveness forward at linmar we

appreciate the actions of the diversity equity and inclusion committee as it has been integral to getting initiatives in

motion some of the action It produced was creating a diversity newsletter analyzing student climate data by

informing next steps and giving input to create a more inclusive school calendar

we appreciate the district and the board's actions that walk the walk of diversity equity and inclusion the

up of taste great less filling people yet the U.S Department of Education chose to take a unilateral less filling

black history book bands ironic during Black History Month may I state in all of history the good guys were never the

ones that banned books now we hear several people running for school boards locally and Statewide that believe in

fighting against the same institution they say they want to serve direct and guide policy and practice for imagine a

volunteer fire department anyone recruiting and supporting a firefighter intended to serve all of our community

wouldn't be hiring an arsonist to serve the community the fire started that comes from within burning up student

rights to an open and inclusive education especially as our demographics continue to change in our community and

in our nation Fanning flames in an already understaffed and under-resourced system can you imagine if news got out

that a voluntary fire department had an arsonist in their station I can't help help but hope that the community and

values all of our students and administrators in public schools would step up and prevent any further damage

that can be caused in words policy or trying to burn down public schools from within and using our children to ignite

politically divisive efforts to close with my firefighting analogy may we continue to extinguish hate and with

love may we extinguish closed minds and hearts with openness and compassion may we extinguish miseducation and
