Tank battle Ukraine - Free the Leopards

This video is composed of six clips.

In the first we see drone footage of the destruction of a Russian tank in the open fields near Vuhledar Ukraine.

In the second we see drone footage of the destruction of a truck and then a tank. In all, three FAB bombs are dropped from the Ukrainian drone.

In the third we see a publicity clip from the Canadian Department of National Defence. The clip advertises that, in the wake of the 27 January 2023 decision by the German government to #FreeTheLeopards, a Canadian Leopard2 tank was loaded onto a C-130 Hercules for transit to Europe, then eventually to Ukraine.

In clip number 4 and 5 we see Pyotr Tolstoy the Vice-President of the Russian Duma (lower House of Parliament) as he tells a French interviewer named Darius Rochebin twice that the tanks adopted by the Ukrainians from the west will burn.

In clip number 6 we see Dr Phil Karber from the Potomac Foundation describe in a lecture to West Point cadets his 2018 findings from the conflict that armoured personnel carriers (APCs, which are all comparably lightly armoured vehicles) burn and that he has seen more than a few charred bodies sitting inside bombed out APCs. The lesson here is that armour and invincibility seem to have parted ways and gone in different directions.

This post was written in early February 2023 before the western tanks arrived and is thus speculative. At this time we figure that because the Russians have access to similar drone technologies as we saw in the first two clips, the net result of the fierce political battle we have just seen play out over the last two months might well be a defeat both for the Ukrainians, and for public opinion in the West.
