esident Evil 0 is the only prologue to the events that took place in the Raccoon City mansion, before the Alpha team arrived on the scene and introduced the world to the duo Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield. The plot portrays S.T.A.R.S. Rebecca Chambers (who appeared as Chris' partner in the first game) and fugitive Billy Coen in a plot involving James Marcus' revenge against Umbrella.

This game is much loved by fans for its mechanics that flirt with concepts outside the series formula, but that still fit the cake recipe that made Resident Evil iconic. Unlike other games, in which we took on the role of different protagonists at different times (like Claire and Leon), here we control two characters at the same time.
