Oak Hill Church of Christ 2-5-23 Message: "Grace Unmasked"

Oak Hill Church of Christ preaching minister, Randy Sterling, delivers a message on the peace that can be found in recognizing that our salvation comes not from our own efforts, but through the Grace of God through Jesus Christ.

The saying goes: "Fake it till you make it." The best solution to the problem of not having experience or expertise in an area, we are told, is to pretend that experience and expertise until everyone around us is convinced. We put on the mask of 'professional' so that, hopefully, everyone will believe that we are.

Unfortunately, "fake it till you make it" does not work for God. We cannot convince God that we are holy people by pantomiming holy conduct, because holiness comes from the heart and cannot be simulated.

While this may seem fearful for some, to the Christian it should be peace. We do not need to pretend or deceive or simulate. All we need to do is be ourselves, and bring ourselves humbly to God through Christ so that we might be saved. Then, we do not need to simulate holiness, it will radiate from us through the Light of God.
