China threatens repercussions after US shoots down spy balloon, A day after a Chinese surveillance balloon was shot down by the U.S. military, the job has now begun to examine debris from the device to figure out what intelligence was gathered as it flew over some top secret military sites.

Beijing is already firing back by threatening repercussions, saying the shoot-down is a serious violation of international practice. President Joe Biden, who ordered it be shot down, is also facing questions about why he didn't give the order as soon as it entered American airspace.
